Ballet Classes designed for age 55 and above

Silverswans Ballet are ballet classes exclusively designed for the over 55s. Elite Academy of Dance in Greenock was the first Royal Academy of Dance School to offer these classes in Scotland. This followed on from a pilot programme run by Scottish Ballet in 2013. The classes are totally ballet based. They are formulated and cater especially for those in their 50's. The Silver swan classes will help improve posture, mobility, co-ordination, musicality and help boost energy levels.  Studies have also shown that classes also improve lifestyle through the social interaction that these classes bring. Silverswan ballet classes have now been running at Elite Academy of Dance for over 10 years. Ballet classes take place on a Tuesday and Thursday morning  at our private studio in Greenock. Classes are open to all abilities. Whether you are a complete novice or have danced before, you will be made most welcome. In 2022 a small group of our Silverswans took to the stage at the Beacon Arts Centre in Greenock to perform in The Elite Academy Summer Show.  All classes are taught by industry professionals who are fully qualified and trained in Classical Ballet by the Royal Academy of Dance.

Structured Classes

Structured classes that have been tried and tested over the past 10 years. Each class is totally focused on Royal Academy of Dance classical ballet. 


Qualified Teachers

All classes are taught by fully trained industry professionals. Each teacher has completed a 2- year full time teacher degree with the Royal Academy of Dance. Teachers must continue training on a yearly basis with The Royal Academy  in order to remain a qualified Royal Academy teacher. 


Fun and Friendship

 On top of all the health benefits that Silverswan classes bring. Classes are great fun and an ideal opportunity to socialise with a new group of friends.


Private Studio

Silver swan's ballet classes are held at Elite Academy of Dance private studio in Greenock.
